Accuracy of wig photos: A little tidbit on our wigs, photographs, and product consistencyAt zarawigs.com, we are not interested in bait and switch tactics. All our wig photos belong to us, we do not receive photos from any other party. All our wig photos are of our own wigs. When you purchase a stock wig on our website, we photographed an actual stock wig for the photos. Many of our stock wigs are one-offs, and we never stock another one like it. In that instance, the photo is of the exact unit. Others, we remake based on the same specs, and the wig in the photo is identical to the one you receive. We are fanatic about representing our products accurately and if a stock wig differs greatly from the photo, we take a new set of photos for that wig. With custom ordered wigs, it can be a bit different. In the past, we had some textures and color blends that were difficult to replicate. We have since stopped selling those wigs. Everything we carry now, we can reproduce reliably. The one exception is true virgin textures, as those differ from donor to donor, but we try to get as close as possible to the photographs. Having said that, we reach an extremely important and sensitive issue. There is a difference between the wig looking like the wig in the photo and the person looking like the mannequin wearing the wig. The same wig can take on a different appearance depending on the wearer. For example, you can see below, one of our units that I photographed on two different mannequins, and the wig looks different. Sometimes a customer feels that a wig doesn't look like it does in the photo, when the reality is the customer doesn't look the way they expected to look when wearing the wig. This is true, most often, with "Beyonce" color blends, something that does not work for a lot of women. We try our best to guide our customers towards sensible color blends and textures, wigs that will complement their features, not look completely fake and unbelievable. In all instances, though, we strive for accurate representation of the product. We were one of the first lace wig retailer to offer full photo galleries of each style and even to this day, try to take photos from multiple angles to give a full representation of the product. We have worked with our wigmakers, consistently, over the years, to ensure product integrity and consistency. We trt to capture any inconsistencies in production before they reach the customer (and there can be many) and we try to be as honest and ethical as possible with representing our product, from the photos, to accurately conveying hair origin. Having said that, there are women who receive a wig and don't look quite the way they hoped when they wear it. Or, they ordered a color blend that didn't come out quite the way they expected. Sometimes it's a matter of trial and error getting the right texture and color combination. But we do not, ever, bait and switch our customers.
