The ironic thing about being in the custom wig business is that most of our best, and most popular, color combinations are actually not planned blends or designs, but often a result of fixing something that came out terribly wrong. For some reason, more "fixing" happens with red than with any other color. It's probably because if a brown or blonde is "wrong"it's still "wearable", but if red is wrong, it's a complete tragedy.
It's also one of the reasons that we don't repeat some of the "mistakes" because we were already working with a base color that wasn't what it was supposed to be. You can view our photo gallery, Scarlet Fantasy, Firecracker Red, and many other combinations were actually "fixes" for colors gone rogue.
This wig is no exception, it came in completely wrong with a gorgeous color in the wrong place, a red that was just "dead wrong" and oddly placed highlights with dark roots. In the hands of Matt, one of our partner colorists, who has a love affair with color, this wig was transformed into a work of art, with dark roots, highlights and lowlights, for a million dollar color blend!
So now you may wonder, if it was a "fix" why isn't it less expensive? Great colorists aren't cheap! Even though we're a company, we don't really get a "deal" on coloring services. So this is like getting a beautiful full lace unit, with custom coloring, and a silk top, at a great price. To top it off, we probably will not ever try this one again, so it will be a true one of a kind.
This gorgeous wig is made of Burmese Remy hair, the texture is sleek and straight, with a slight bend, it moves and flows freely and holds curls well. The hair dries straight, with a slight wave, you can choose to flat iron for a sleek look, but it is not necessary. For added versatility, you can roller set the hair, when wet, for a curly or wavy look.
ColorBlends is our special collection of full lace wigs enhanced with creative color blends. Each wig is a unique creation, with 2-4 colors blended to provide spectacular color blends. Our ColorBlends are created to duplicate the look of professional salon colors, and often do not coordinate perfectly with standard wig hair color charts, therefore we are unable to provide you with color numbers for the blends. They are perfect for women who are bored with typical lace front wig colors, and are looking for something to stand out from the rest. Our ColorBlends collection allows you the creative freedom to experiment with unique color combinations, creating the look of an expensive, high end color job form a master colorist.
Silk top wigs are growing in popularity because the ventilation technique allows multi directional parting without worrying about visible knots. The silk top consists of a layer of lace, and silk fabric. When the hair is knotted, the knots are below the silk concealed between the layers, making them truly invisible, which is why this is also often referred to as hidden knots. This technique is very labor intensive, and silk top wigs are generally more expensive than regular wigs.
Silk top wigs aren't for everyone. At zarawigs.com we really try to give you the best information possible, to enable you to make an informed choice. The main drawback of silk top wigs is a visible difference at the edges of the silk top. In the photo gallery of this wig, we captured many different photographs to show you the difference, to enable you to make an informed decision. This particular wig is made of transparent lace, which means the silk top will not work on those with darker skin shades, as you can see from our photo of the wig on a darker mannequin. If your skin is medium brown or darker, you can now order your custom wig with a silk top, to ensure that the shade of the silk matches your skin shade, to make the area blend flawlessly with your complexion.
There is no other ventilation technique that creates a more flawless appearance than hidden knots on a silk top, you don't need to bleach the knots, you don't need to worry about any other techniques to make the knots invisible or less visible. Having said that, most of our customers prefer lace caps because they are skilled with their application technique and they can achieve the look they want without the added expense of invisible knots and a silk top. The choice is yours and we want you to make the best decision possible, considering your investment in a lace wig.
