Do I need to shampoo and condition my lace wig after swimming?

You most definitely should care for the wig after swimming. Our favorite product is Aveda Detox shampoo, diluted with water (it's very strong used undiluted), followed by a deep moisturizing conditioner. There are plenty of other products made for hair treatment after swimming.

Wig hair definitely needs TLC after swimming because not only has it not been attached to a person's own head for a long time (receiving nutrients from the scalp), but it may have been colored and processed for texture, so in most cases you have to treat it with the same care you would chemically treated hair. Repeated exposure to chlorine, and other common swimming pool chemicals, will degrade the hair and base over time.
