Do I need to shampoo and condition my lace wig after swimming?
You most definitely should care for the wig after swimming. Our favorite product is Aveda Detoxifier shampoo, diluted with water (it's very strong used undiluted), follwed by a deep moisturizing conditioner. There are plenty of other products made for hair treatment after swimming. Wig hair definitely needs TLC after swimming becuase not only has it not been attached to a person's own head for a long time (receiving nutrients from the scalp), but it may have been colored, texturized for yaki texture, or texturized for curl, so in most cases you have to treat it with the same care you would chemically treated hair. Repeated exposure to clorine can degrade the hair and base over time.
